Scriptorium Brunense – Diplomatics Summer School 2025 June

We are happy to announce that the 2025 edition of the Scriptorium Brunense Summer School of Auxiliary Historical Sciences (Brno, 23-27 June 2025) will be organised in cooperation between the Department of Auxiliary Historical Sciences and Archive Studies of the Masaryk University Brno and DiDip. In continuation of the traditional tripartite course offer, aligning basic workshops in auxiliary historical sciences, more advanced workshops in auxiliary historical sciences (both in Czech) and a series of workshops in English opened to more advanced students and graduates in all historical sciences, the DiDip-project will organise this third strand, placed under the topic of European Diplomatics in the late Middle Ages.

During this five days summer school, students of the third strand will dive into different aspects of diplomatics like the institution of the notariat or urban diplomatics in a European approach, get to know new methods as network analysis, the investigation of diplomatic formulas, and prosopography, learn about concepts like the concept of charter landscapes or documentary spaces – spaces of power, or get an introduction to digital editions.

You can find all information concerning the inscription and the full program here: https://archivnictvi.phil.muni.cz/aktualne/aktuality/letni-skola-scriptorium-brunense
